Job description
Responsibilities
As a Sr Internal Auditor on our Internal Audit and Risk Consulting team you'll help our company meet its strategic objectives by performing risk-focused, process-based internal audits and risk consulting services. As a member of the audit team, you'll work closely with leaders and employees within different areas of Principal to support asset management and corporate audits!
You'll have the opportunity to:
* Analyze business processes and assess the adequacy of current risk mitigation and control activities.
* Analyze accounting procedures, controls and/or system applications to ensure the integrity of information.
* Analyze system controls and utilize data to perform detailed analysis.
* Consult with business partners to develop action plans for risk management strategies that align with goals and objectives.
* Document insights and detailed process risk/controls and where applicable.
* Perform tests to assure risk management strategies are functioning effectively.
* Research industry and organization risk management and compliance issues.
* Prepare written audit reports for senior management.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or business-related field, or equivalent experience required.
* 7+ years of related experience - auditing experience or business process knowledge preferred.
* CIA, CPA or equivalent preferred.
* Exposure to asset management preferred.
* Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proven relationship building, consultation, and influencing skills.
* Results-oriented, self-starter with the ability to accept and adapt to a changing environment.
* PC and/or system skills required (intermediate Excel/Access/Microsoft BI) preferred.
* Some travel may be required for this position.

This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements. You'll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
