Commercial Banking provides financial solutions to businesses with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. Our business lines are Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Middle Market Banking, and Treasury Management & Payment Solutions.

As the front-line control arm of Commercial Banking, Commercial Banking Control Management develops and supports a strong control environment that leads to early identification and sustainable mitigation of operational risk, through joint accountability with business and process leaders. The control function is responsible for: risk identification and assessment, control and issue management, control design and evaluation, reporting and governance, and control programsWells Fargo Commercial Capital (WFCC) Control team leads the control management functions for several businesses within WFCC. This role is aligned to the Strategic Initiatives/Governance/Issue Management/Financial Crimes Control team. In partnership with other Financial Crimes Control team members, responsibilities will include, supporting policy implementation deliverables, management of documentation to ensure adherence to program requirements, risk identification and assessment, control and issue management, control design and evaluation, and other control programs. This will include policy analysis, execution of internal agreements for support services to meet program requirements, and root cause and theme/trend identification leading to proactive issue mitigation.
Responsibilities will also include designing controls in partnership with business owners, including effectiveness measures, implementation support, validation of effectiveness post implementation; and controls evaluation based on defined triggers.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in risk management or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management

- Strong interpersonal, influencing and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders.
- The ability to effectively manage and build relationships within the business and partners aligned to all levels of the Control organization.
