Position Summary

The Manager of Technical Services has responsibility for all aspects of the Bandag technical services structure, team and strategy including Zone Technical Managers, Technical Service Representatives and Help Desk support for Bandag franchised manufacturing dealers.

Responsibilities

The Manager of Technical Services is a key role within the Bandag business leadership team and provides connectivity between our franchised Bandag dealers and the broader business - including our manufacturing equipment development, training, finance and human resources departments. The core responsibilities of this role include:

- Oversight of a team of Zone Technical Managers (3) with responsibility each for a team of Technical Services Representatives (7-10) located across North America supporting manufacturing operations.

As such, the following are critical components of this leadership position:

- Insure adherence to, and monitor/measure, the safety of our teams in the field overseeing the creation and execution of training in all aspects of our operations including equipment installation, maintenance, travel/driver policies and use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

- Maximize dealer production quality and capacity through the update, execution and design of our Franchise Compliance Audit and other similar quality assurance tools and processes.

- Interact with our Bandag equipment manufacturing and parts teams to provide maximum availability and uptime of our Bandag franchised dealers, including our equipment support strategy, guidance on obsolescence and the development new equipment to enhance operations and improve quality and efficiency in manufacturing.

- Interact across the Bandag business and the broader enterprise to provide training, business insights, budget guidance/oversight and recommendations to improve the franchise for our dealers and Bandag.

- Promote, recruit and work cross functionally to attract future, diverse talent in our technical services group and Bandag business overall. Foster an environment of diversity and inclusiveness that promotes our core values of authenticity, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Experience and Skills:

- Undergraduate degree, or 5+ years equivalent experience, in an engineering or manufacturing function.

- Previous experience leading management teams across a variety of functions and roles.

- A proven and demonstrable track record of safety, process and organizational improvement.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to analyze, assess and explain complex situations in an understandable and executable manner both interpersonally and using electronic tools (MSOffice).

Minimum Qualifications

Proficient in SAP, PeopleSoft, and Excel. Customer service skills required. Must be a self starter and able to work independently. Experience with Bandag equipment or other industrial equipment and parts replacement preferred. Experience with Bridgestone dealer network preferred. Bachelors degree in business or related field required. Experience and exhibited advanced proficiency in SAP and Peoplesoft may be considered in lieu of degree.
