Corporate Risk
As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk - or Independent Risk Management - provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk. Corporate Risk roles depend on a variety of skills, including: Data analysis and synthesis, root cause analysis, change management, process management & execution, risk governance, risk strategy, risk identification & assessment, risk prevention, controls & mitigation, risk monitoring, reporting & escalation, risk systems & technology.

The Role
The Head of Quality Assurance and Testing is responsible for assisting the Head of Corporate Risk Reporting and Analytics (CRRA) with managing matrixed multilevel teams to establish report testing strategy, standards, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the strategy for QA & Testing within the CRRA team is in alignment with organizational policy, to ensure all CRRA reporting applications, data, and controls are reviewed, tested, validated, and meet user requirements. Additionally, creates and automates CRRA regression testing for reporting, ensuring thorough and complete testing documentation. Establishes Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling all CRRA testing activities for accuracy and comprehensiveness before moving to production.
  • Partners with stakeholders to understand requirements and enables teams to design test cases, test scripts, test procedures, user acceptance testing for CRRA reporting, test case execution, and manages re-testing and validation approvals within CRRA.
  • Standardizes the testing framework and methodologies. Develops QA standards and procedures for end-to-end testing of CRRA reporting applications and data, to include reporting infrastructure (i.e., metrics, new data…). Prioritizes workflow pipeline and oversee Jira workflow.
  • Fact / evidence-based support for "Go/No-Go" decisions, and ensures comprehensive testing documentation, and testing sign offs are completed.
  • Trusted & resourceful partner for senior management stakeholders to conceptualize & execute programs to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and experience delivered through CRRA Data Management team.
  • Sets vision, values, and strategy for the function. Provides leadership to the identification and transformation of opportunities into actionable information that drives business outcomes.
  • Influences and collaborates with peers and senior leaders to strategize change, remove cultural barriers, overcome silo focus, identify alternatives, and resolve competing philosophical approaches.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years must include direct experience in risk management
  • 7+ years of management experience



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 20+ years of experience in quality assurance and data reporting and testing.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in a multi-level matrixed organization, preferably in a QA and data reporting capacity.
  • Strong collaborative management style, with an execution- and results-oriented focus. Ability to manage/deal with uncertainties and the zeal to identify opportunities in adversities
  • Is a strong people manager; builds high performing and diverse teams, able to lead geographically dispersed teams, sets and achieves high standards for self and team. Compassionate leader with humility and someone who possess broad-based thinking ability
  • A demonstrated track record of effectively and constructively leading change in large, complex, and global organization(s). Ability to understand/sense the varying decision-making styles and navigate effectively
  • Knowledge of the financial services and other related industries (technology) and understanding of the emerging trends, compliance, regulatory, and economic environment, and the impact on Wells Fargo

  • A strategic business partner capable of balancing the need for innovation and change with regulatory realities, internal need to manage risk and cultural readiness for change management.
  • Has the ability to present and discuss information in a way that persuades, educates, and enhances understanding at all levels.


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
