Must ensure successful execution of the facilities capital program which can include multiple projects with varying scope, timelines and capital expenditures. Develops and leads the overall facility capital and the facility maintenance budget. Ensures that all engineering aspects of projects as well as associated documentation are in compliance with local and Colgate quality, legal and EHS regulations. Overall responsible for " Equipment Management Strategy & Reliability" to manufacture superior quality products while eliminating potential risks to employees and equipment and driving improvement in Plant Efficiency, Quality of product, creating Flexibility, minimizing waste, establishing safe Maintenance work practices and ensuring that the Plant Equipment is safe to operate at all times. Additionally the Plant Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the MRO (Materials, Repairs and Operating Supplies) program and identifying other potential opportunities for margin improvement. Also needs to build relationships with R&D, Division and Subsidiary business and Supply Chain management, Global Product Supply Engineering, Global Packaging, Quality and EHS departments, as well as outside consultants and suppliers to ensure the business and technical objectives of all projects are satisfied.What will you do?Functions as a member of the Strategic Leadership Team which:Leads enrollment of the facility in the Tonganoxie Plant Vision.Provides resources to achieve plant strategy.Ensures decision making processes are consistent with guiding principles.Establishes clear direction and continuous improvement expectations for the plant.Leads and supports change.Provides effective career development and planning for direct reports.Develops and handles the overall plant capital budget and the maintenance budget.Ensures that all engineering aspects of projects as well as associated documentation are in compliance with local, Hill's / Colgate, legal and EHS regulations.Leads the technical engineering team to promote collaboration and alignment across functions in order to meet or exceed plant key performance indicators.Accountable for the preparation and management of the capital and facilities expense budgets.Responsible for Technical Staffing and Support needs of the plant.Ensures training for newly implemented methods and systems to continuously improve technical skill level.Coordinates with the EHS manager to ensure contractors follow all guidelines for safety, quality and food sanitation.Develops and maintains the plant capital plan and overall capital plan implementation.Implements and maintains a plant technical document management system that addresses location, access, security, and creation of technical documents.Leads all plant energy management and optimization projects.Ensure appropriate EMO's (Experimental Manufacturing Orders) are conducted to verify that process/equipment meets design specification and that personnel are trained appropriately.Acts as a key partner in PSI during plant startup.Accountable for ensuring compliance with CP/ Hills, local, state, and federal standards and guidelines related to EHS, Quality, and Regulatory.Drive the values and principles of managing with respect in all daily business affairs.Advanced Functions:Responsible for the timely capitalization of assets, management of surplus equipment and use of global idle equipment databases for capital avoidance.Review and analyze plant process capacity data and identify bottlenecks.
