Job Description
The Assistant Director of Student Recruitment (ADSR) is responsible for new student recruitment and admissions goals for their assigned regions, special populations, external campuses and degree programs. Under the direction of the Director of Student Recruitment, maintains responsibility for specific activities within the Office of Recruitment while assisting with general office functions and goals related to institutional enrollment of new students.
This position reports directly to the Director of Student Recruitment (DSR) and works collaboratively with all colleges and campus staff to achieve enrollment goals; this position is expected to closely coordinate activities with Enrollment Management especially on recruiting strategies, processes, and metrics for success.
The ADSR directly oversees undergraduate recruitment, which includes but is not limited to freshmen, transfer, and international students while sharing oversight and management of recruitment events, operations, and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a lead role in the planning and organization of recruitment events and of events function including but not limited to, travel planning, staffing, student communications, goal setting and quantifiable objectives; Use Banner, CRM, and other recruitment systems to utilize date and conduct data analytics including student conversion ratio.
- In coordination with the Director of Student Recruitment, implements freshmen and transfer recruitment strategies including, but not limited to, fulfillment of recruitment responsibilities outlined in high school and community college partnerships; communications and marketing strategies; transfer and freshmen visitation programs; develop freshmen and transfer recruitment material in conjunction with the university Marketing & Communications department; conducts monthly information sessions at the main and NWHC campus and facilitate the application process; monitor inquiries, application counts, admission status and registration of all new students; follow up with all incomplete applications from previous terms.
- Implements an assertive and targeted plan of student outreach while maintaining detailed records of contact and interaction in Recruit CRM; responds to leads including but not limited to: contacting prospective students and invite them to a personal appointment followed up by an
information session. - Works collaboratively with enrollment stakeholders within the division and across campus to ensure enrollment objectives are met. Assists in maintaining function and productivity of the Recruitment office. Contributes to oversight of office workflow and customer service with attention to visitor experience, phone calls, and appropriate staffing and Tracks & follow-ups
with all leads in the form of RFIs, RSVPs, walk-ins or referrals through personal contact and CRM system. - Conducts presentations and meets with high school and community college counselors, prospective students and families as needed to provide admissions, financial aid and enrollment process details as required. Develops and maintains a working knowledge of PVAMU's policy, academic programs, history, and associated details. Also serve as the unit's lead trainer for new employees, alumni ambassadors, and staff's annual refresher training.
- Represents Prairie View A&M University in a professional manner at various functions as required.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree
- Six years of related experience. Three years of supervisory experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree.
- More than six years of relevant professional experience, particularly in higher education administration (recruiting, admissions, academic affairs, administration) and increased responsibility in one or more of these areas.
- Proven track record of enrollment success and growth.
- Excellent leadership skills to direct and meet the university's strategic goals for student enrollment.
- Experience with a proven record of success in managing admissions-related marketing (web and publication design); events, promotional planning, and budget management.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Extensive knowledge of social media marketing strategies.
