Responsibilities

Our technical team is responsible for creating external and internal facing products to deliver exceptional value to our customers and employees through the extensive use of technology. We are an insurance company delivering an exceptionally efficient experience to our customers through the use of technology and our underwriter's deep knowledge of the insured's industry.

We'll count on you to:

* Participate in an agile team environment with highly skilled professionals
* Assist our Product Manager in performing business analysis within the company
* Work with business users and management across the company (Underwriting, Client Success, Claims, etc.) to analyze and define user needs within a rapidly growing insurance company
* Be prepared to offer multiple recommendations on how to improve business processes/workflow
* Act in a consultative role to provide and/or develop, in collaboration with others, resolutions to complex problems
* Document requirements as user stories with clear acceptance criteria
* Work with system administrators and other support staff to perform analysis on system integration needs as needed for applicable user stories
* Work with the UX designer as needed so that proposed user stories have sufficient mockups and other supporting experience clarifications
* Assist developers and QA's by answering questions and providing business perspective and feedback as stories are developed
* Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that developed user stories delivered the intended value

Qualifications

What you need to have:

* Bachelor's degree - preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Management
* 5 years' experience performing business analysis
* Experience working with property & casualty insurance stakeholders
* Must be fully vaccinated and remain fully vaccinated against COVID-19*

What makes you stand out:

* Some SQL experience - be able to query a database to understand data impact on proposed user stories
* Preferably some JSON experience - be able to understand the data elements and structure of a payload
* Experience working in an agile Scrum or Kanban environment
* Agile certifications, such as Certified Scrum Master
* Collaborative self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Ability to explain in laymen's terms the use, challenges, and options of various computer related technologies
* Self-motivated and direct with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks across a variety of initiatives
