Job Summary:
Based at a hospital account in Wichita, the primary focus of this position is to assist with the Human Resources function for multiple hospital accounts in Kansas with over 500 employees. The HR Generalist will take a support role assisting the Area HR Manager and the operational Directors in all of the following functional areas: associate relations, labor relations, HR specific training, HR legal requirements and compliance, compensation practices, deployment of HR policies and procedures, associate engagement survey action plan follow up, support the performance management process, assist in the hiring of all non-exempt and exempt associates, and managing the employee relations process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Working with operations leadership and Area HR Manager, plans, sets objectives, and develops appropriate strategies and tactics to maximize a productive, engaged workforce
• Prepares summaries, documentation and statistics to support the operation and human resource goals
• Objectively coach associates and management through complex and difficult issues. Provide guidance to management on appropriate disciplinary action. Assist or direct with on-site investigations
• Support internal customer survey and associate engagement survey interpretation/feedback process
• Attend department manager meetings to increase HR visibility, conduct classroom training, provide assistance and implement HR initiatives
• Design and implement human resources tools to support the strategic and tactical HR business plan
• Advise leadership team through strategy development relating to Human Resource topics
• Manage system wide Intel projects as assigned, ensuring compliance and completion
• Manage HR system platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
• PHR/SPHR preferred
• Two (2)+ years human resources generalist experience
• Union experience strongly preferred
• HR experience at a large organization preferred
• Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills; advanced skills preferred
• Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
• Strong presentation and communication skills required
• Ability to travel to Pittsburg, KS and/or Manhattan, KS required based on business needs
• HR/Employee relations and investigations experience
