For more information about Celanese and our products please visit Corporation (Florence, KY) is seeking a Sr Engineer/Chemist/Pharma Formulations Scientist to work at the Company's Pharmaceutical Applications Lab and to be responsible for collaborating with the Celanese's Pharmaceutical Team and directly supporting customers to advance new applications of proprietary materials in long-acting dosage forms. Responsible for assisting in the development of more data on the Company's VitalDose materials for drug release, developing new drug delivery systems, and helping customers develop drug products using Celanese's chemical materials. Specific job duties include: defining key data needs, establishing needed methods, and overseeing the generation of model system data, with Celanese's Pharmaceutical Team, to prepare stronger data packages to support growth in long-acting dosage form applications. Translating functional requirements to product requirements and identifying opportunities for external and internal customers. Working on the development of proprietary delivery systems, including supporting analytical methods. Providing direct technical support to pharmaceutical formulators at customers. Overseeing projects to develop proof-of-concept long acting dosage forms for early phase development. Benchmarking competitive products to understand value versus competition. Developing and establishing intellectual property through filing of patents and documenting trade secrets.Must hold a Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutics, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Engineering, Polymer Science or a relevant scientific discipline, along with three (3) years of prior work experience in pharmaceutical formulations, physicochemical evaluation of drugs and dosage forms in designing product development, including drug-device combination products; data collection, data interpretation and analysis, record keeping. Must know (through academic training or work experience) biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, toxicokinetics principals to perform research required for pharmaceutical drug formulation.
