Overview

The Finance Manager is a key member of the divisional finance team responsible for leading and developing team of accounting and finance professionals; directly supporting Operations and Clinical Administration and functional groups such as corporate accounting to ensure an accurate and timely close. The Finance Manager will be responsible for utilizing strategic levers to help operations gain insight and visibility to financial numbers to drive earnings improvements.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in economics, business or finance.

Experience:

5+ years' experience in finance in a large-scale environment, multi-site experience preferred.
Successful, track record of partnering with operations to drive results.
Must be able to manage and complete multiple projects.
Experience in accounting or working closely with accounting teams during month end close cycle required.

Licenses/Certifications:

None required.
Responsibilities

Responsible for preparation of monthly internal financial reporting and business unit analysis, client contract reporting, client billing and revenue recognition, client reimbursements, incurred cost, cost sharing, contract staffing, and offsite services.
Prepares and presents monthly analysis of business unit performance and variance to budget to divisional leadership.
Responsible for collaborating with operations, identifying opportunities, and recommending solutions to ensure division meets financial performance expectations.
Ensures all month end close and reporting functions under responsibility are performed timely and within any specified timeframes.
Serves as primary point of finance contact for Regional or Site Operations staff.
Maintains contract working knowledge to review contracts and transactions and record correctly.
Gather, extract, analyze and model data using analytical and statistical tools.
Assists on internal and external audits, as directed by the VP of Accounting - Business Units.
Supervises degreed and/or clerical financial staff as directed by the VP of Accounting - Business Units
Review and prepare select journal entries to ensure divisional results are accurate
Lead and mentor team of direct reports
Uphold internal and external policies (e.g. code of ethics), regulations and laws (federal, state, and local) to ensure that the behavior of organization is honest, ethical and professional
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial data, research market trends, identify best practices, and manage supporting contract development activities
Desire and ability to take full ownership of projects and produce high quality work
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work effectively, maintain composure and make decisions in stressful situations
Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines
Strong analytical background - proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Strong communication skills
Research and data analysis - cost structure analysis
Project Management Skills
Ability to flex between different categories of spend including: Medical Supplies, Pharmacy, Laboratory Services, IT, Staffing, etc. for corrective action
Demonstrate ability to influence and partner with key internal and external stakeholders.
Comfortable with conflict - willingness to challenge conventional thinking
Strong work ethic with excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
Strong team player; able to interact with all levels of management
Able to aggressively take the lead on driving new business concepts across the organization, and implement savings opportunities
