Overview:

Piston Automotive of Louisville is seeking a 2nd Shift Human Resources Generalist (3:00pm - 12am). The Human Resources Generalist, is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department, including but not limited to workforce planning, training & development, employee relations, personnel administration, safety, etc.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer benefits programs such as vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, FMLA, short-term disability, long-term disability, tuition reimbursement, and employee assistance for hourly employees.
  • Partners with Plant and leadership to proactively address and resolve routine and complex problems by applying policy knowledge and experience, facilitating problem solving, providing guidance and advice in a way that integrates with the Plant/business needs.
  • Evaluates and recommends improvements to HR processes and procedures.
  • Administer hourly performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Maintain positive performance, work habits, overall attitude, conduct and demeanor.
  • Assist with accident investigations and prepare reports for insurance carrier.
  • Prepare layoff notices and manage unemployment claims and compliance.
  • Prepare employee separation notices, and related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Fosters a strong and positive work environment through teambuilding, fair policies
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Human Resource Generalist or related role
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.)
  • Proficient with HRIS software, preferable ADP HRIS System (at an intermediate to advance level)
  • Proficient in MS Office products (at an intermediate to advance level)
  • Strong communication and negotiation
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (interacts with employees objectively)
  • Strategic thinker and planner
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • A team player
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
