- Degree in related field and or experience delivering training.
- Well organized, able to multi-task, and detail oriented.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision.
- Ability to work efficiently from home-based environment.
- Ability to make decisions.
- Ability to work in a discreet manner, maintaining confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills and good work ethic.
- Proficient in MS Office and Excel programs.
- Capacity to utilize the web and web-based systems.
- Capacity to communicate effectively with others, e.g., in person, email, letter, etc.
- Excellent networking skills and knowledge of the local foster care, kinship, and adoption community.
- No person shall be employed who has been convicted of any offense against people.
- Ability to lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) pounds.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently.
- Reliable transportation and proof of valid driver's license as well as automobile insurance is required.
Responsibilities:
- The Foster Parent Trainer will be responsible for delivering our Therapeutic Curriculum and In-Service training to prospective or already approved DCBS Foster and Kinship Parents, providing support and assistance to training participants as needed, updating training spreadsheet, facilitating distribution of participants paperwork and registration information to stakeholders, maintaining excellent communication with DCBS regions including attendance at designated meetings as needed, completing DCBS assessments, assistance with providing necessary documentation for quarterly reports, and additional tasks as needed to support the In-Service Training Program.
- Arrive 60 minutes prior to start time to set-up.
- Train sessions for De-escalation, Impact of Trauma, Effective Discipline, Cultural Awareness.
- Help with handing out materials to participants and collecting homework.
- Remain after training to help with clean-up.
- Complete all the required training each year and be able to travel out of state a least 3 times a year.
- Make sure Foster Parent stays in good standing with Kulima Care and DCBS.
Accountabilities:
- Reports to the Foster Parent Program Director.
Responsibilities:
- Arrive 60 minutes prior to start time to set-up for Morning, Night and Weekend Trainings.
- Train sessions for De-escalation, Impact of Trauma, Effective Discipline, Cultural Awareness.
- Help with handing out materials to participant and collecting homework.
- Remain after training/recruitment events to help with clean-up.
- Complete all required trainings with 1 week of out-of-town traveling 3x a year.
- Keeping Foster Parent in good standing with Kulima Care.
