Position Overview:
The Human Resources Generalist will support and report to the plant Human Resources Manager. This role will be responsible for performing a variety of human resources duties in support of the plant. This includes payroll, recruiting, onboarding, temporary agency management, and other human resources functions. Provide support to facilitate monthly and year-end close, benefits administration, and attendance records. Has frequent contact with other plants, corporate office, customers, employees, and vendors to solve problems, correct discrepancies and facilitate productive communication on common issues. Individual performing the duties of HR Generalist must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Specific Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Abides by all Amcor's Safety & Quality policies and procedures.
Payroll:
- Audit timecards, post files, maintain / update databases, enter checks and batch entry of adjustments, update and maintain vacation pay and adjustments as needed.
- Train plant management on timekeeping data entry for accurate payment to employees.
- Export and summarize payroll information (per employee hours and department dollars) for month-end review.
- Maintain Gainsharing quarterly (if applicable) and reserve payment data for eligible employees.
Human Resources:
- Assist Human Resources Manager in answering employee payroll, benefit, and attendance questions.
- Recruit for open positions with high quality and time-to-fill
- Manage temporary staffing for site
- Administer benefits and new hire orientation
- Maintain HR database, tracking, and metrics
- File co-worker records
Other Duties
Order office supplies and any other duties assigned by direct supervisor.
- Travel 5%
Qualifications:
- Minimum Associate Degree / Prefer Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Education: Bachelor's Degree Human Resources or Business-related field of study
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work under pressure and interact with others.
- Ability to disseminate data and make timely decisions.
- Ability to meet / exceed deadlines.
- Strong problem solving / analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in electronic data-entry (Microsoft Office, SAP, KRONOS, HRIS System)
