SUMMARY
Working with general supervisor, the Senior Associate, Human Resources role is responsible for providing operational and administrative support for Human Resources functions while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism. Associate may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require a supervisor's advance approval.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
- Provide general counsel and guidance to supervisors and employees regarding company policies and procedures
- Partner with management to ensure the timely administration of 90-day and annual performance reviews, including providing timely feedback to ensure fair, consistent and equitable reviews
- Conduct timely internal investigations for first level employee concerns
- Ensure that all employee matters are handled with consistency and fairness without discrimination
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to all employee issues
- Manage KRONOS timekeeping, scheduling and attendance tracking administration
- Conduct initial phone interviews for non-exempt positions and forward recommended candidates for consideration during peak seasonal hiring
- Schedule candidate screening phone interviews and onsite interviews for hiring managers and Human Resource leaders.
- Processes online background check investigation requests and assists with new employee background checks and drug screening when applicable.
- Schedules meetings and interviews
- Conduct employment and personal reference checks
- Coordinate post-interview follow-up with recruiters and hiring managers
- Conduct exit interviews and perform turnover analysis
- Prepares new employee files
- Conducts New Hire Orientation for full-time GameStop associates and seasonal hires
- Verifies I-9 documentation
- Assist HR Manager and HR Team with various research projects and/or special projects
- Manage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization; adhere consistently with all organizational policies related to our respectful workplace

- Model the high level of customer service expected of all GameStop associates including, but not limited to, responding to voice mails and emails within organizationally defined timeframes, completing projects as committed, responding to others' feedback appropriately, and making optimal use of organizationally limited resources by offering assistance to other functional teams when appropriate

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Business, Human Resources or related field preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in Human Resources
- Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English - bilingual English/Spanish or English/French communication skills preferred
- Previous experience in recruiting preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age and be able to validate age requirement with a state issued document.
- Working knowledge of KRONOS Timekeeping system preferred
- Working knowledge of common HRIS (e.g., ADP, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Workday etc.)
- Must be able to lift/move on occasion up to 20lbs.
- Must be able to work 2nd shift hours till 9:00 PM as needed
