Catalent's Winchester location is the flagship US manufacturing location for large scale complex controlled release (CR) oral dose forms, with integrated analytical and development services. With 20 years of expertise in product development, technology transfers and commercial manufacturing, and roots in industry leading Glatt technology. This site offers newly installed Fluid Beds, expanded analytical labs, and an advanced open facility design that provides flexibility in supporting the requirements of any new customer program.

The HR Director will drive strategic and tactical HR roles for Winchester, KY site. This includes being a full member of the Site Leadership Team and being a strategic business partner to the GM and the various functional leads. This position will report directly to the Head of HR, SOT and have a dotted line reporting to the site GM

The Role

* Develops and directs the establishment and maintenance of policies, procedures, plans, programs and budgets dealing with the specific activities of staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee development and training, organizational development, HR information systems to meet the business plan and competitive strategy of the BU in a cost-effective manner.
* Manages and develops the human resources team of personnel (e.g: HR Managers, HR Generalists and HR Coordinators).
* Ensures alignment of such policies, procedures, plans, programs and budget with those of Catalent Pharma Solutions.
* Partners with business unit leadership in the organization's strategic planning efforts, providing insight of vital HR concerns and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
* Provides counsel to Managers and employees on human resources issues, organization structure and development.
* Establishes and maintains an effective and credible relationship with both management and employees; works closely with line management to provide support, planning and problem solving.
* Plans and directs the organization's recruitment, selection and placement of qualified managers and personnel with the critical technical and management skills required to ensure continuity of operations.
* Develops, implements and administers and effective performance management system aimed at improving employee and organizational productivity.
* Counsels leaders on the development of training and development plans focused on building the critical skills and competencies required to handle present and future jobs more effectively.
* Ensures implementation and administration of succession planning program.
* In partnership with Catalent Compensation, develops, implements and administers fair and equitable reward systems that meet the strategic and competitive demands of the business.
* Develops and implements plans to introduce and manage cultural change within the organization to improve organizational effectiveness; ensures that organizational strategies, structure and processes are consistent with evolving business needs.
* Serves as the site's chief spokesperson with outside agencies / organizations related to its employees (e.g: EEOC, DOL, Worker's compensation Insurance, legal counsel, etc.). Assures compliance with laws and regulations related to employees and their relationship with their employer.
* Develop and manage department budget.
* Maintain effectiveness of the Quality System components relevant to the position.

The Candidate

* Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline (e.g., Human Resources, Business Management or equivalent) Required.
* Master's Degree, PHR/SPHR SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred
* Minimum 10 years' experience in human resources required with 3-5 years in a management role
* Exposure to the pharmaceutical, healthcare or related technical industries is preferred
* Experience supporting a manufacturing environment
* Demonstrated success to collaborate with others and think independently.
* Knowledge of employment and labor law
* Strong knowledge in HR management concepts with strong consultative skills.
