**Summary:** This position conduct research, analysis, synthesis, and experimentation on substances, for such purposes as material and process development and application, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and improvement of analytical methodologies pursuant to internal research and development programs directed by the Chief Chemist.
**Responsibilities and Essential Duties:**
+ Qualifying materials for use in new or existing products
+ Documenting and reporting the results of all research and development activities conducted in the chemical laboratory on a regular and timely basis to the VPO, President/ Chief Chemist or his or her designee
+ Analyzes organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties, utilizing such techniques as chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned
+ **Performance measures include:**
+ **Creation, testing, and evaluation of samples materials in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner based on defined specifications and parameters**
+ **Supporting Marketing & Client Service Representatives, Production Department, and QCU by providing information in response to customer inquiries or evaluative comments concerning materials under development or existing products for which changes are desired**
+ **Training on methods, techniques, and procedures necessary to formulate, test, and evaluate sample materials, as well document and report work**
**Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:**
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry strongly preferred
+ Working knowledge of chemical processes, methodology, and techniques, and analytical equipment
+ Organizational and time management skills
+ Verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute detailed and complex instructions
+ Ability to apply basic math skills, such ratio, and percent calculations
**Work Schedule** : 8AM - 430PM, Monday - Friday
**Pay:** 35-50K/year, depending on experience; **RELOCATION EXPENSES MAY BE INCLUDED ALSO**
