Purpose of Position:

Monitor, maintain and improve the quality control and food safety systems. To insure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements. Supervisor, train and motivate QC Reps to achieve departmental goals.

Research and improve regulatory compliance in regards to HACCP programs, SSOPs, Audit preparation and ensuring employee compliance to GMPs.

Essential Functions:

Assist QC Manager in development and improvement of HACCP Plans, SSOP compliance, preparation for audits, response to NRs and NOIEs as needed. This position has the authority to hold product that does not conform to customer agreements, finished product specifications, or legal requirements and is also authorized to make decision regarding product disposition including release

Assist in implementing, maintaining, evaluating, enforcing, and updating USDA regulatory, Corporate Guidelines and QC Programs.

Interface with Production Supervisors and hourly employees on production, food safety, quality procedures

Responsible for training and professional development of QC Staff

Work with USDA personnel to handle regulatory issues

Maintain Quality Reporting Systems

Departmental Administrative Duties (i.e. Time cards, employee paperwork, safety audits)

Provide Training for production, sanitation, maintenance, and quality control groups. Training includes but no limited to product quality standards, GMPs, Food Safety Issues, HACCP.

All persons employed or associated with Foster Farms are responsible for the quality and food safety of company products. The food safety and quality policies are summarized and communicated in a company handbook and at training sessions. Each new employee is provided a handbook and attends a food safety training session before beginning work. All employees attend a refresher training session at least once per year. Records are maintained reflecting the distribution of employee handbooks and attendance at the training sessions.
