Job description

Reporting to the Department Head and the Associate Dean for Fiscal Affairs, incumbent is responsible for managing all fiscal and administrative matters of the department in an independent manner. The Business Manager is responsible for maintaining the fiscal integrity of the department; this includes but is not limited to ensuring that all expenditures are within budgets and available sources of funding. Incumbent will educate the faculty on funds management and will be responsible for implementing and adhering to all relevant rules, regulations and procedures as they relate to the administrative and financial operation of the department.

Additional Position Information: Duties include but are not limited to: pre- and post-award grant management, contract negotiations, departmental hiring and personnel processes, budget development and overall operational aspects of the department.

Required Education: Bachelor's Discipline(s): Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related discipline Indicate the minimum number of years required to do the job: Four Indicate the type of experience required to do the job: Relevant professional level experience Indicate if any combination of specific experience, training and education may be substituted for the required education or experience: Degree in other area will be considered with additional 3 years of relevant experience. Master's degree in a business oriented discipline can substitute for 2 years experience.

Preferred Education: Master's Discipline(s): Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related discipline Indicate the preferred experience to perform the job: 5 years progressively more responsible experience. Experience with grant management. Experience in an academic setting.
