**Staff Accountant**

**Westbrook, ME**

**$60,000 - $70,000 (Permanent)**

**Flexible start time between 7am to 9am**

**Kelly Services has recently partnered with our customer in the produce wholesale industry, who is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team permanently. In business over 20 years with ~100 employees, this company is expanding and looking for the right fit person to join!**

The Staff Accountant has primary responsibility for the monthly financial close preparing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger and report preparation.

Responsibilities:

+ Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, preparing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation

+ Maintaining the general ledger system

+ Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules

+ Daily cash receipts posting and bank accounts reconciliation

+ Assisting with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns

+ Assisting with annual audit preparations

+ Assisting in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department

+ Provide training to new and existing staff as needed

+ Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.

Requirements:

+ BA degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred

+ 3+ years of accounting experience

+ Working knowledge of GAAP

+ Lease accounting experience, preferred

+ Hands on reconciliation experience (capital leases, prepaids, accruals)

+ Strong financial analysis skills

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

+ Ability to train and manage staff
