Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Data / Business Analyst develops and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality within define Data Governance Guidelines. Additionally, in coordination with other team members, manages and designs the reporting environments, including data sources, security, and metadata.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements. Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports, supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalization while meeting corporate standards and procedures and support of Corporate Accounting & FP&A team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Providing technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.

• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems

• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets

• Generates reports from single or multiple systems.

• Troubleshoots the system functions and reports.

• Trains various levels of users on system functions, reports, and dashboards.

• Evaluating changes and updates to source production systems.

• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.

• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets

• Helping develop reports and analysis.

• Assisting with managing master data, including creation, updates, during ERP implementation

• Helps create Use Cases and then aids in testing and implementing new or upgraded software and assisting with strategic decisions on new systems.

• Stay up to date on latest process and IT advancements in support of CSC's current and planned ERP and data warehouses functions.

• Evaluate business processes, anticipates requirements, uncovers areas for improvements, and develops and implements solutions.

• Leads ongoing reviews of business processes, develops progress maps, and develops GAP analysis.

Develops and documents Business Requirements and communicates findings

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Good understanding of financial statements

• Experience in analytics dashboards and KPI reports design

• Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.

• Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.

• High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases.

• Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.

• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports

• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality

• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems

• Extract raw data from numerous data sources and aggregate it into cohesive data sets via ETL (extracting, transforming and loading) to ensure data is accurate and stable

• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

• Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems

• Work with management to prioritize business and information needs

• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

KEY SKILLS:

• Strong analytical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data

• Knowledge of programming languages like SQL, Oracle and Python

• Technical proficiency regarding database design development, data models, techniques for data mining, and segmentation.

• Experience in handling reporting packages like Business Objects, programming (Javascript, XML, or ETL frameworks), databases

• Proficiency in Excel, Power Query, Power BI, Excel SPSS, SAS to be used for data set analyzing

• Knowledge of data visualization software like Tableau, Qlik

• Knowledge of how to create and apply the most accurate algorithms to datasets in order to find solutions

• Problem-solving skills

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Adept at queries, writing reports, validation of data with key stakeholders

• Team-working skills

• Verbal and Written communication skills

• Proven working experience in data analysis
