I. JOB SUMMARY
This role is responsible for coordinating all inbound and outbound shipments in support of the MD Central Warehouse location. This role will work closely with Sourcing, Warehousing, Planning, Sample Management, Clients and Project Management teams to manage the shipment schedule to ensure a planned cadence of both inbound and outbound deliveries.

This position will play a crucial role in leading supply chain operations by supporting with transportation procurement strategy, carrier relationship management, and cost optimization to support our customers with a high level of service.

This role will require a self-motivated, hands-on, positive thinker that enjoys a constantly changing and dynamic work environment.
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manage the transportation operations to meet or exceed our customers' requirements
• Liaison between Supply Chain functions to align expectations and maintain production schedule.
• Work closely with Sample Management Team to support and arrange logistics for both inbound and outbound sample materials requiring cold chain management (Domestic and International)
• Coordinate and lead material shipment and deliveries under strict packaging and shipping procedures using Emergent preferred carriers and/or as directed by customer when applicable
• Maintain an accurate schedule of inbound and outbound shipments
• Notify adjoining functions of any changes in the schedule
• Create and enforce local logistics policies and procedures in conjunction with global standards and best practices where applicable
• Establish, build, and maintain relationships with Emergent global and/or local carriers

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

• Bachelors' degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience/education plus 1-2 years Logistics Experience or 4 - 5 years of Logistics Experience plus a High School Diploma or Equivalent
• APICS Certification preferred but not required (CLTD)
• Well-founded knowledge and experience in the usage of ERP modules (SAP preferred).
• Knowledge of both domestic and international shipping regulations for biological products and associated materials
• Previous experience working within regulated, cGXP industry. FDA and Government regulatory agency inspections preferred
• Knowledgeable in Supply Chain principles, Warehouse, Purchasing and Supplier Quality.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners at multiple levels.
• Ability to manage, prioritize and work cross functionally to influence behaviors and gain consensus.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Excellent critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills and abilities
• Process-oriented and high level of attention to detail required
• Knowledgeable of Microsoft product suite (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
