The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior management. This position carries out responsibilities in many operational functional areas, including: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

A day in the life: (Just a few of the things you may do on any given day)
Manage all tasks related to onboarding and new hire orientation.
Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
Maintain current HR files and databases.
Support employee engagement through various methods of communication and announcements.
Maintain human resource information system records and compile reports from the database.
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Evaluate department reports, decisions and results in relation to established goals.
Develop and implement personnel policies and procedures;
Prepare and maintain employee handbook and policies and procedures manual
Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
Perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees.
Support the planning and implementation of company events, to include the Holiday Party, Company Picnic, Movie Nights, Happy Hours, etc.
Support a wide variety of other Operations tasks and projects.
What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):
3+ years of experience in HR or another related field.
SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
Ability to work within all Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
Desire and willingness to wear multiple hats, try new things and take on new responsibilities as needed
Due to the nature of our Federal contracts, candidates are required to have US citizenship
