Senior Project Engineer
A leader in the construction products industry, is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join their team in Williamsport, MD. The Senior Project Engineer plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates technical activities on assigned projects and engineering work. This individual is a liaison between the engineering and manufacturing departments/personnel. The Senior Project Engineer will influence effective communication and ensure coordination on assigned projects between all involved departments/participants, especially regarding change of processes and procedures. In order to be effective, this person must be vigilant in monitoring for compliance and ensuring projects follow accepted engineering practices and standards. The Senior Project Engineer reports to the Plant Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Plan, conduct and coordinate technical and management aspects of projects.
• Create, maintain, and communicate project schedules to meet company goals.
• Organize and plan work tasks to ensure successful completion of engineering projects.
• Resolve customer/engineering and management project issues to minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
• Develop and implement sustainable solutions for quality improvements, cost reductions and process improvements.
• Regulate safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Commission project and documentation of SOPs and JSAs for all tasks.
• Track and deliver project savings.
• Coordinate improvements in developing and continually improving project development processes in a Lean work environment.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
· 1-4 years of manufacturing experience with demonstrated ability to produce innovative and successful processes to meet project schedules and cost targets.
· Will require the use of multiple engineering disciplines with an emphasis on Electrical Engineering and Industrial Controls.
· Must be willing to learn and understand functions of Modicon Unity and ProWorx NxT programming software.
· Must be able to design future hardware systems converting from Modicon ProWorx NxT to Modicon Unity based systems.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to design, manage, and implement projects.
· Strong attention to detail, ability to follow directions and meet deadlines.
· Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legal regulations.
