Guidesly is a well-funded startup building software for the Outdoor industry. We just closed our Seed Funding (October 2021) and need a Business Development Manager to help us achieve our ongoing business goals. We are looking for an innovative & hungry BD hire who wants to work with the CEO and leadership team building new business. You will work with a team of professionals, guides, and outdoor enthusiasts alike to design new business initiatives. The outdoor recreation industry includes fishing, wildlife, boating, water sports, snow sports, hunting, ATV, hiking, and biking. We are starting with the fishing vertical in the outdoor recreation industry.

As a business development manager, you will work with the CEO to develop, analyze, and execute new business strategy. You will be on the front line with executives creating new products and driving Guidesly's development. Work with the product team to identify product gaps, sales opportunities, and revenue driving strategies. The Business Development Manager also ensures that we are on track to meet overall strategic goals.



Position Title: Business Development Manager

We are looking for a business development manager who is passionate about building new business from the ground up and transforming growth initiatives. You will join our dynamic and fast-paced startup environment and work with cross-functional teams as well as guides.


The Business Development Manager is responsible for helping Guidesly obtain analyze and build new business opportunities, product revenue opportunities and financial growth. Your duties include coordinating with the CEO, company executives, sales, and marketing professionals on a business growth strategy to devise and manage action plans with goals and objective. The Business Development Manager reviews current market trends and proposes new business ideas to improve revenue.


What you will do:


  • Analyze and drive business development initiatives that are consistent with the company's overall strategy
  • Complex modeling and analysis of potential business opportunities
  • Help build the strategy to drive guide / supply side networks across the outdoor recreation verticals
  • Special projects and analysis as required by the CEO
  • Work with product development to analyze product opportunities, market opportunity, revenue opportunities, pricing optimization and buy/build decisions
  • Develop a growth strategy pipeline of future work, identifying, engaging, and tracking prospects through research, industry events, direct outreach, and networking.
  • Converse with prospects about a broad range of topics, creating meaningful connections with potential partners in the outdoor recreation industry.
  • Work with guides in local, state and national settings to help grow, promote and build the supply side network.
  • Set-up meetings to engage senior-level business leaders to better understand their business needs.
  • Communicate Guidesly's unique value proposition through relevant ongoing and prospective future engagements in the outdoor recreation industry.
  • Collaborate with other departments to plan and deliver new business presentations and working sessions.
  • Lead the process of cultivating new business from an initial meeting through an award and turnover success.
  • Manage contract negotiation and work with the Legal Counsel as required.
  • Be a thought leader on market insights. Gather useful information from customer and competitor data
  • Make and give visual presentations to prospective clients and internal company team members

· 2-3 years of Business Development experience

· Bachelor's degree (MBA a plus)

· Demonstrated knowledge of strategic roadmap, building new business & BD projects

· Proven financial modeling skills
