The Data Program Analyst at Olive is part of a rapidly growing Data Management Program. This individual will play a critical role in executing Olives mission by managing data-driven related activities like data profiling, data discovery and analysis, requirements definition, testing and continuous improvement of data collection, mapping, analysis and transformation processes. As a Data Program Analyst, you relish tallying up the numbers one minute and communicating your findings to a team leader the next. You can see different angles of a product or business opportunity, and you know how to connect the dots and interact with people in various roles and functions. You will work to effectively turn business questions into data analysis and provide meaningful recommendations on strategy. The ideal candidate is inquisitive, creative, self-driven and flexible with the ability to work within a dynamic high-growth startup environment.

Responsibilities

* Analyze data files, data layouts and data dictionaries
* Perform root cause analysis, requirements definition and provide support to Data Engineering
* Doing deep dives with healthcare datasets and identifying relationships in the data and any gaps/issues
* Develop an understanding of how data moves through the enterprise
* Gather requirements from stakeholders to ensure comprehensive understanding of data operating logic, the business intent of the modification request, and the potential impact of any additional data being added to (or modifying) an existing process
* Eventually grow into a subject matter expert role in a primary data domain with full understanding of data and transformation rules
* Contribute to the generation and execution of test cases to validate that the source data has been accurately re-mapped, transformed and loaded
* Alert program managers of potential risks and issues of importance

Requirements

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Health/Medical Informatics or similar fields or equivalent professional experience
* 0-3 years of professional experience in data analysis, data management and manipulation, and/or database design
* Ability to analyze large data sets and collect insights in a fast-paced, agile environment
* Experience in analyzing, defining and documenting business processes and rules
* Experience testing data and creating related test cases
* Strong working knowledge of databases (preferably AWS data stack, snowflake), and querying languages (SQL)
* Ability to develop business requirements pertaining to data systems, domains and strategic frameworks.
* Experience working with structured and unstructured data environments
* Strong communication and time organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications

* Understanding of Medical claims, Rx Claims, Clinical data, Eligibility, Healthcare insurance benefit set up, provider data, healthcare industry standard datasets like ICD, CPT, SNOMED is a plus.
* Knowledge of standard claim file contents (UB04, HCFA-1500, NCPDP) and EDI messages.
* Previous experience with analytical programing languages (Python, R) and related data manipulation packages (Pandas, Numpy, dplyr, tidyr)
