Job description

WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Compliance Co-op is a critical member of the North American Compliance and HR Risk team. In this role the successful candidate will work closely with team members to assist with BCG's pre-employment and client-initiated background check program for the U.S. and Canada. As part of the background check program, the HR Compliance Co-op will be responsible for initiating, tracking, and reviewing all background check reports to ensure they meet BCG standards. In addition, the HR Compliance Assistant will team with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition on background checks to raise and resolve any potential background check alerts or concerns in a timely fashion.
The HR Compliance Co-op will also contribute to the implementation and evaluation of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action (AA) programs across all U.S. offices. This is accomplished through auditing BCG recruiting and employment practices to ensure compliance with U.S. legal regulations and best practices.

YOU'RE GOOD AT
Detail orientation as it pertains to Background Checks

  • Supporting the background check compliance team with the following daily tasks: enter checks, track candidates, correspond with local offices on background check results, and maintain data accuracy
  • Conducting follow-up inquiries with candidates who have background check alerts and correspond with local HR teams as needed
  • Assisting with client-related background checks, including initiating background checks in a timely manner, tracking progress, and completing necessary client paperwork
  • Actively participating in background check vendor calls; organize log to track discussion topics and vendor concerns
  • Documenting background check results and adverse action as needed
  • Auditing background check records to ensure internal information is accurate
Coordination and support of EEO/Affirmative Action Compliance
  • Providing assistance with EEO data retrieval and compliance audits, which includes partnering with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and other function team members to obtain necessary information for complete and accurate data
  • Assisting with annual compliance reporting, including performing high-level analysis on workforce and applicants
Other Compliance Assistance:
  • Assisting as needed with OSHA tracking and documentation
  • Participating in training/education of other BCG functions
  • Performing other duties as necessary
