Overview

Mimecast's Business Intelligence & Analytics team is looking for a Senior Manager of Analytics Engineering to enable data-driven decisions across the company. You will be responsible for delivering scalable analytic tools and highly performant data models that enable successful business outcomes for internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success & Support, Finance, Products and many more. We are looking for a candidate who can work collaboratively with our analysts, data engineering team and business stakeholders, who can also actively contribute to our corporate analytics strategy as we continue to grow and evolve our core business.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and lead a team of analytics engineers who will support a diverse set of stakeholders across our analytics, business and data engineering orgs
  • Own and administer our analytic engineering and data visualization tools, processes, strategy and standards
  • Partner with business stakeholders & analyst team to source, define and implement solutions for newly acquired data and collaborate with data engineering to align sprint planning to data strategy
  • Provide leadership, vision and direction to the BI and Analytics organization to ensure it contributes to the company achieving its goals
  • Collaborate with analysts, data scientists and business stakeholders to develop roadmaps and understand functional areas' current and future measures of success (KPIs).
  • Design and implement best-in-class business analytics solutions to empower our stakeholders to solve their data-driven analytics and reporting needs
  • Enable and train on the successful delivery and adoption of technology and data solutions, including a self-service approach.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in business analytics, data engineering, analytics engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of hands-on people management experience
  • Experience working with a cloud data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery), modern business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Domo) and data transformation tools (e.g. Alteryx, dbt)
  • Expert level SQL proficiency and deep familiarity with dimensional modeling best practices
  • Ability to build a multi-sprint plan for a complex data modeling project from loosely defined business requirements
  • Ability to work with senior leadership to influence design decisions to line up with overall company strategy
  • Experience and passion for working in a fast-paced, high-tech and customer obsessed environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a high aptitude to manage multiple priorities across the organization.
  • Experience building scalable data models and analytics products on modern cloud-based platforms with a focus on delivering business value through data
  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Management or other engineering or quantitative discipline field
