Senior Associate Scientist, Analytical Development (Gene Therapy)

Job Scope & Purpose:

Our client is building a new gene therapy platform with world renowned experts from the cell and gene therapy space. This exciting company with a disruptive technology is adding to their Analytical team with an Associate Scientist to establish analytical development for a novel lentiviral vector based gene delivery technology.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Design, execute and analyze key studies to develop analytical methods
• Assist in analytical method qualification and validation
• Collaborate with research and process scientists towards characterization of novel product and process attributes
• Identify and implement platform LVV release analytics to test for Quality attributes including transduction assays, particle quantitation, sequencing, sterility and adventitious agents, recombinant virus, residual enzyme and more.
• Perform/order routine analysis of pre-clinical, vector core, and process development samples
• Train team members to execute internally developed methods

Primary Job Requirements:

• B.S. in analytical chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related field with 2+ years of industry experience working with LVV
• Proven track record performing and evaluating vector analytics: qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, and transduction assays
• Familiar with GMP guidelines
• Proven ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, and prioritize and flexibly balance multiple workstreams
• Demonstrates close attention to detail and strong technical writing skills
• Experience developing new methods preferred
