As part of our global team, we are seeking a highly motivated expert to drive organoid research and create novel workflows and technologies around the application of organoids. This key strategic role will be foundational to driving direction and focus for identifying & handling of the key challenges facing the application of organoids to life sciences and bioprocessing.

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • As part of our team in Boston, we are seeking a highly motivated and industry respected expert to pioneer organoid research strategy for Corporate Research.
  • Responsible for establishing / managing a lab for organoid research including propagation with 3D culturing and associated analytical tools.
  • Identify and implement relevant disease state models to study organoid function.
  • Collaborate with internal and external experts to bring together material science, bioprinting, 3D culturing, imaging, miniature sensing and data analytics to overcome the challenges of organoid workflows.
  • Improve the fundamental understanding of organoid formation and lead to new applications such as novel cell tissue scaffolds and methods for vascularization.
  • Identify and evaluate the novel organoid application areas including cell biology, disease diagnostics, drug toxicity, tissue mimics, regenerative medicine and cell implants.


What will convince us:
  • MSc or PhD in life sciences related discipline such as cell biology, immunology or biotechnology
  • A ten year industry experience that includes cell & / or tissue science.
  • Experience of cell tissue culture of a range of cells including primary cells and cell lines of adherent and suspension. Experience of the associated biochemical assay methods for cell characterization such as viability, cell activation and differentiation.
  • A track record of hands expertise in research and development of organoid systems including isolation, propagation and 3D culturing.
  • Recognized experience & understanding of establishing organoids to therapeutically relevant disease state models
  • Experience of evaluating organoids for industrially relevant applications
  • Strong desire to work on multidisciplinary projects working alongside data analysts, bioprocess engineers and biologists.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and balance individual technical contribution with coordination of fast paced research activities across multiple sites, organizations, and disciplines
  • Operatively oriented, proactive in finding solutions and positive mindset
