The Role

The Human Resources Generalist supports the Human Resource Manager in executing an effective people plan for their assigned facility('s). This position supports every employee at the facility, ensuring the comprehensive administration of human resources policy and procedures. The position performs a variety of functional core human resources areas including employee relations, benefits and compensation administration, affirmative action, HRIS system administration, on-boarding, employee engagement, training and development, and legal compliance with applicable state and federal guidelines. Responsibilities

* Employee Onboarding: Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience. Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance.
* Compliance Management: Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with training, continuing education, and work assessments; including safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and other exams and certifications. Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and company guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
* Project Management: You will lead a variety of projects to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and engagement for our employees and managers. These projects will range from the development of policies to the development of manager training and everything in between.
* Culture Consigliore: As a member of the People team, you are part of the heartbeat of Green Thumb; you will assist in how to scale and enhance our culture as it relates to employee engagement and becoming a best place to work in the cannabis industry. Facilitate committees and encourage networking, idea exchange and suggest ways to enhance staff satisfaction and work effectiveness.
* Employee Relations: Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters. Serve as a confidential resource to employees and managers whether it be handling and escalating any employee relations issue in partnership with the People team and in-house/outside counsel. You can confidently advise the business leaders by collecting and compiling applicable information especially as it relates to formal investigation process.
* Employment Law and Leave Policies/Administration: Well-versed in federal and state employment law and fluent in leave policies and administration for our employees and liaising with our Total Rewards team. Must be able to understand overarching laws and help our employees understand their role in ensuring legal and internal policy compliant leaves.
* Program Development and Process Improvement: Bring innovative thought to the creation, planning, roll-out and the maintenance of programs and processes for a consistent and scalable approach.
* Talent and Performance Management: Strategize with business leaders and make recommendations to maximize our team's performance whether it's developing and defining career paths/opportunities, engagement, talent development and succession planning, and performance evaluations.
* Relationship Management: Create and maintain strong and trusting relationships across the organization; partner cross-functionally with the management team, internal People team to ensure that the team can grow, scale, and exceed business objectives.
* Change Management: Advise, and when necessary, lead in change management initiatives in business units by clearly understanding the strategic move and assisting with a communication plan and presenting recommendations to mitigate risks and ensure success in the change, as it relates to, personnel moves, M&A, or other organizational changes.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in business, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or similar.
* A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Human Resources role.
* Prior experience in human resources in a union environment.
* Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks and problem solve effectively.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
* Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
* Exceptional computer skills in Microsoft® Office Suite (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word).
* PHR or other relevant certification preferred.
* Working knowledge of HRIS systems.
* Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset.
* Knowledge of HR federal & state laws and regulations.
* Operate with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information.
* Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
* Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment
* Possesses a high level of critical thinking

* Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb
* Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.

Additional Requirements

* Must pass any and all required background checks
* Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
* Must possess valid driver's license
* Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
* Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
