Position Description Job SummaryThe Research Technician safely performs technical functions involving testing, analyzing, improving, installing, operating, and/or solving problems concerning processes, equipment and products.The selected candidate will be joining the Coated Abrasives R&D group in a position based in Northboro (MA, USA).MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports engineers and scientists in the Coated Abrasives' R&D team with their projects. Executes and/or supports commercial and manufacturing support requests. Manages and documents projects and tasks effectively with supervision. Plays contributing role in lab management: safety, equipment maintenance, 5S, lab audit preparation and action follow-up, lab postings, regular equipment checks etc. Demonstrates open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility. Conducts hands-on experimental work with documentation as appropriate.COMPETENCIES: Oral and written communication skills Familiarity with reporting software such as Microsoft word and excel Demonstrated hands-on experimental work history Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety operations Ability to work with a diverse project team in an open and collaborative mode Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently Problem solving by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps with support.Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED (demonstrated equivalent) with 1-5 years' experience.
