Job description
GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Reporting to the New Business Manager of MGPO Business Intelligence, the Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, understanding, and documenting business and technical requirements throughout the organization to identify opportunities for improvement and/or cost reduction as well as to ensure efficiency and compliance. He/she will collaborate/partner with various stakeholders to ensure all the projects be implemented on time and within scope.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, conducts, and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved
Partner with stakeholders to listen, understand and document their needs
Develop supporting analytical data requirements, identifying source data and metric calculations and interaction needs
Creates specifications for reporting and analytics that meet business requirements and coordinates unit, regression, and acceptance testing
Provide consistency in documentation approach, using accepted methodologies and templates
Develop workflows, prototypes, and guidelines that meet business needs
May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues and to execute against application roadmaps and contribute new and unique ideas to the design of rich content
Coordinate project queues and provide support to Business Intelligence team Managers on matters pertaining to resource management and operational analysis. Delegate work through Adobe Workfront
Be the admin for our Project Management tool called Adobe Workfront (will train)
Assures accuracy and integrity of specialized and complex data and analysis
Responds promptly and effectively to customers and colleagues, clarifying requests and providing guidance and suggestions to assure that the resultant information appropriately addresses the issue under investigation
Fosters a culture of continuous improvement by promoting the concepts and principles of Lean and Six Sigma
Leads process improvement efforts within the Business Intelligence department and across the MGPO Finance Division, MGH and PHS as needed
Responsible for triaging incoming requests and issues and provide documentation and requirements to our developers to better help them focus on development
Lead, Plan, and direct complex testing efforts
QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS Degree required in a related field such as Business Administration or Information Systems.
4-6 Years of experience required as a business analyst or within a similar role in a healthcare setting.

Healthcare Experience preferred
Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as IBM Cognos or Tableau
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc)
EPIC (or similar) system experience preferred
Experience using Erwin Diagram (or similar data modeling tools)
Knowledge of SQL server to create complex queries to analyze data
Process Improvement expertise using principles of Lean or Six Sigma
Agile Development Environment Experience preferre
Ability to manage multiple tasks and issues simultaneously
Extensive computer expertise and capability, including spreadsheet, data base, and business intelligence software
Highly self-motivated/disciplined, performs role with minimal supervision, notice or direction to identify and resolve problems and complete work. Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities
Demonstrated effectiveness in working in complex and dynamic environments
Must be capable of operating at both the strategic and the tactical level to facilitate successful communication with all levels of clinical and administrative staff Strong analytical and problem solving skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The MGPO Business Intelligence department is located at the Assembly Row in Somerville, MA and/or remote (virtual) based on the needs of the department.
The work environment is very busy and dynamic
Staff is very collaborative and work together to solve issues with particular practice issues
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
N/A
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY: Indicate financial "scope" information, i.e.: size of budget, volume, revenue, etc.
