Job description

Responsible for planning, forecasting, and implementing marketing programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new products and applications for innovative biomaterials based on PHA (Polyhydroxyalkanoate) technology used in a variety of applications (e.g., packaging, agriculture, personal and healthcare, etc.).


  • Work cross-functionally with Global technical/marketing team to build communications strategies that engage customers and partners, drive brand affinity and support subscriber growth / retention; serve as trusted communications advisor to the company; prepare and media train spokespeople; provide constructive feedback to executives; staff interviews and presentations.
  • Directs the development of various Marketing-wide initiatives, proactively creates/changes processes, structures, programs, and planning systems to ensure commercial success and fiscal accountability across all marketing planning and operations activities.
  • Develop and execute the organization's overall corporate communications and marketing strategies aligned with company's vision, strategic direction.
  • Serve as a key leader within the company, identifying and driving business opportunities through cross-functional partnerships across Marketing, Creative, Product Management, and Technology.
  • Oversee and design corporate program materials and electronic media to include websites, social media, press-releases, newsletters, presentations, tradeshow presence, all manners of collateral, and other tools to ensure appropriate messaging and brand strategy are effectively executed.
  • Participate in ongoing brand development and marketing of CJ White BIO projects.
  • Develop B2C and B2B external communications plans that are aligned with needs of the business; understand and simplify complex ideas / technical issues and make them relatable to those outside the industry; lead product / programming launches and proactive media programs; contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Monitor developments in the field of marketing and communication within PHA industry/White BIO to foster innovative ideas.
  • Create reports as needed.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities


  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including strong media relations skills; experience writing news releases, blog posts, pitches, speeches, and other written materials; Ability to participate in a high-performance team-based environment that is fast-learning and adaptive.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and participate in a continuous improvement/innovative culture, including utilizing problem-solving skills.
  • Computer and web-based tool skills, i.e. Microsoft Office suite, Social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Strong strategic thinking, market analysis, and marketing execution skills
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality


Education and Experience


  • Master's degree & min. of 5 years of directly related experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree & min. of 7 years of directly related experience
  • Experience in creating and drafting engaging social media content.
