OpTech is currently seeking motivated individuals to work as a Deputy Chief Financial Officer for our top client located in the Detroit, MI area!! This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity!!
Company located within the Detroit, MI area is in immediate need of an experienced Deputy Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate must be an excellent leader with top-notch people management skills along with a strong collaborative team player mentality. Looking for someone with excellent communication skills and personality who is confident, articulate and passionate about the work they do.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Under the supervision of the CFO, will oversee Controllers, finance planning and analysis, revenue analysis, financial reporting, general ledger management. Budgeting and grants management.
- Providing a second in charge function to the CFO
- Assist in managing the financial resources and conducting resource planning for future needs.
- Assist with analyzing cash flow, cost controls and expenses
- Assist with the budget development process
- Present and report accurate and timely financial information
- Assist in the preparation and management of financial reports in discussion with leadership
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Contribute to leadership planning and change
- Demonstrate key leadership qualities
- Direct team activities or work as a team member
- Recognize and be responsive to the needs of department leadership, customers and the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPA background is highly preferred
- Government Accounting experience is highly preferred
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience directly related to managing and controlling an organization's financial management system
- Proficient in the knowledge of General Accounting Principles
- Sound knowledge of budgetary, accounting and financial practices as well as internal controls
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and rules governing accounting and finance functions
- An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrate strong computer literacy with personal computer and financial systems
- Have the ability to maintain knowledge and competency in the use of applicable software programs.
- Effectively communicate through clear and concise content using both verbal as well as written formats.
- Maintain the highest level of personal accountability and integrity
- Foster and encourage relationships through active listening and encouraging thoughts and/or ideas.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Project Management experience
- Effective conflict management and resolution principles, styles, and strategies between individuals and groups; negotiation and persuasion techniques

Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
