Loc Performance Products, LLC provides full services for complex mechanical products, fabricated structures and systems that range from complete design services to prototype manufacturing, testing, production launch, full rate production and product service and sustainment. Loc provides quality products and services at affordable prices through a lean organizational structure and four facilities, three in Michigan and one in Texas, that span 910,000 square feet. The Plymouth, MI facility serves as corporate headquarters and specializes in suspension, driveline and track systems. The Lansing and Lapeer Michigan based facilities specialize in fabrications and armor product solutions. Loc's Texas facility, located near the Army customer's Red River Army Depot in Texas, supports product kitting and integration for both the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) and Bradley Fighting Vehicle platforms. Department: Purchasing

Summary Coordinates the procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies for the organization by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

• Coordinates all activities related to procurement of a commodity beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.
• Analyzes the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed.
• Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested commodity.
• Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
• Advises team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used.
• Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
• Implements purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations.
• Assures that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.
• Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
• Coordinates appropriate methods needed to distribute commodity in a cost effective manner.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A.A.) in business or related manufacturing program from a two-year college and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Government Procurement experience desired but not required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
