We are looking for a Human Resources Representative. The Human Resources Representative is responsible for the development and implementation of projects and programs related to the Human Resources function at the Greenville, MI facility. A team member of the HR team to support employees and the plant operation on a daily basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts and/or assists in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of new salaried and hourly employees.
  • Directs the open enrollment process and manages benefit administration.
  • Coordinates with third party administrators to administer FMLA and STD/LTD claim processes for all hourly and salaried employees.
  • Investigates grievances and assists with arbitration preparation under the direction of the Human Resources Manager.
  • Facilitates the workers' compensation process between injured employees and the workers' compensation insurance carrier including but not limited to entering claims, resolving billing problems, scheduling medical appointments, and managing employee restrictions.
  • Administers hourly attendance program. Counsels employees when necessary. Assures that hourly employee leave policy is administered properly.
  • Manages weekly manning, bid, and transfer process for hourly employees.
  • Participates in the labor negotiation process, including preparing material and assisting with information requests.
  • Assists with development of the annual Affirmative Action Plan and administers programs outlined in the AAP.
  • Administers tuition, safety shoe, safety glasses, and miscellaneous reimbursement programs for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Maintains HRIS systems to ensure high quality of accurate data and compiles data to track trends in KPIs.
  • Administers hourly training process for new or transferred employees and maintains training matrix and training records for all employees.
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources Department in the absence of the Human Resources Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Experience

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field or the equivalent in training and experience.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • 1 to 5 years in Human Resources in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Union experience preferred
