We are the country's online premier source for custom closets and organizational solutions; designed, custom-cut, and shipped to our clients the next business day from our world class manufacturing facility in Holland, MI.About the JobThe Financial Accounting Supervisor will manage the General Accounting functions. This role is for a hands-on financial professional that will handle the day-to-day general accounting tasks as well as communicate with both internal team members and external customers or suppliers. This position currently has three direct reports and will work closely with and report to the Treasury Operations Manager.Duties & Responsibilities• Working supervisor responsible for accounts receivable & accounts payable• Utilize trend analysis to highlight, then implement corrective actions to address errors and or process deficiencies• Work with business leaders and other key stakeholders to generate reports that will help them make decisions and highlight potential issues• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process ensuring timely, accurate results• Ensure balance sheet account reconciliations are fully supported and follow GAAP• Complete banking approvals, including but not limited to, positive pay and batch banking• Manage the customer returns process, including the review/approval of the monthly accruals• Support annual financial audit and tax preparation• Complete annual unclaimed property review• Supervise and mentor general accounting team• Design and evaluation of internal controls, making appropriate adjustments to changing business needs• Evaluate Financial policies and procedures, ensure appropriate documentation, update as required• Clearly explain financial details and concepts in lay terms• Make confident, timely, fact-based decisions• Work effectively with team members at all levels of the company in a positive, professional manner• Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner consistent with our mission statement, values, and goals• Ensure GAAP is followed in every aspect of businessEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or equivalent experience.Three or more years of experience as Finance Supervisor or equivalent position with demonstrated superior analytical skillsStrong leadership skills requiredAdvanced computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and PowerPointExperience with ERP Systems, (Manage2000 or similar ERP system)Highest standards for accuracy and precisionOrganized, flexible and easily adaptable to changing conditionsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong business partnering and interpersonal skillsAbility to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivatedDemonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacityHigh energy, high ownership of work product and commitment to driving results
