Automation Engineer (cGMP_- Pharmaceutical)

Boston, MA area


DPS is seeking an accomplished Automation professional to work with a pharmaceutical client in the Kalamazoo, MI area. The ideal candidate should have strong previous experience supporting cGMP facilities and must be able to troubleshoot and support stand alone, skid-based PLC automation systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide a design to integrate the system with active directory if required
  • Lead a multi-discipline team (Manufacturing, MSAT, Engineering, Validation, etc) to generate or review the points configured in the historian for the system
  • Document the final design in both the system design specification (DSN) and the Historian DSN.
  • Provide technical support in generating or revising the system Administration SOP
  • Provide technical support in generating the change control
  • Implement the design per approved DSN
  • Support adding HMI to domain if required
  • Support configuration and population of Active Directory if required
  • Coordinate vendor updates to HMI /Historian or implement themselves
  • Perform ad-hoc shakedown of the updated configuration to confirm proper operation
  • Provide technical review of Validation's IQ/OQ Protocol
  • Support execution of the IQ/OQ Protocol by Validation
  • Perform any system /document updates as required due to IQ/OQ execution



Education and Skills:


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 2-3+ years of relevant work experience with PLC automation programming within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Experience with commissioning and validation of a pharmaceutical process is strongly desired.
  • Experience working with networked servers and clients, VMware, Remote Desktop, and interfacing with corporate IT is desired.
  • Excellent communication and customer orientation skills.
