About This Opportunity
As a Field Engineer at Rockford Construction, you will provide support to Superintendents at a retail construction project in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Field Engineers provide interpretation of plans and specifications for contractors and suppliers. You will assist in the coordination of subcontractors to monitor work performances, progress, safety and productivity. In addition, you will review, analyze and resolve field construction issues, discrepancies and clarifications with A/E firm, owner and/or trade contractor. This position closely with owners procurement to ensure on time completion of projects.

Responsibilities
* Review all owner furnished equipment purchase orders against the project documents to ensure accuracy.
* Notify applicable contractor of all deliveries that fall in their scope.
* Ensure all deliveries are unloaded by installing contractor, per most current project documents.
* Ensure all deliveries are tagged by installing contractor with the appropriate identification per the Q Documents including tag number and location.
* Generate the punch list for the Q- drawing portion of the construction documents and also responsible to confirm any punch list item generated by the quality manager has been completed.
* Communicate, schedule and manage Owner Vendor installations along with associated equipment.
* Attend project meetings and update miscellaneous reports.
* Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
* Bachelors in Construction Management/related field.
* A minimum of 2 year of experience working in a similar position and has demonstrated the ability to manage logistical and mentally complex tasks.
* The ability to travel extensively as required.
* The ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, memos, blueprints and floor plans.
* Knowledge and understanding of the management of commercial construction projects.
* Must have a working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Must possess the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
* Must possess superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
* Must be able to read a tape measurer and a construction level and do basic construction math.
Bonus Skills and Experience:
* Retail Construction experience.
* First Aid and CPR certified (safety training will be provided upon hire).
* 10-hour OSHA training.
* Experience with MS Project and PlanGrid.

Environmental Factors
The work environment for this position may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction sites. Examples of physical hazards include noise, proximity to moving vehicles, atmospheric conditions, close quarters, uneven surfaces, and elevated surfaces. The individual may also be subjected to outside environmental conditions (weather) where protection may not be available. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times outside the job trailer. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. or less.
