Job description
ROLE SUMMARY
The Warehouse and Logistics Manager works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the Kalamazoo Warehouse and Logistics Operation with:
Capital Project Management
Leading department projects related to space utilization, quality/compliance, and operational efficiency
IMEX deployment and continuous improvement projects
Incident investigations and associated corrective/preventative action implementation
Warehouse storage and shipping temperature control management
Regulatory audit preparation and support
Certified Cargo Screening Facility administration
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Warehouse and Logistics Manager may perform the following:
Lead capital improvement projects, quality improvements, process improvements, cost reduction projects and key initiatives.
Interface with above-site teams to represent site's warehouse and logistics capabilities and competencies in support of new product introductions/transfers, mode and shipping container changes, new equipment utilization, and other process/system changes.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for warehouse and shipping temperature monitoring and control
Host all Transportation Security Administration (TSA) audits and perform required monthly and annual reporting.
Train new colleagues on Certified Cargo Screening Facility standards.
Conduct all warehouse and logistics safety and material handling incident investigations and lead the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
Assist Team Leaders, IMEx Deployment Leads, and Continuous Improvement Specialists with new Process Centric Team deployments and continuous improvement projects.
Interface with Global Temperature Control Logistics Team to coordinate shipping qualifications, implement new shipping systems, and ensure alignment with network processes.
Monitor regulatory changes and understand their impact on procedures and processes.
Maintain and report metrics in support of department business objectives (budget, project progress, compliance etc.).
Create and maintain procedures and supporting documents.
Assist department in maintaining an audit-ready state which could include performing and documenting self/internal audits.
Participate in regulatory or internal audits and perform necessary follow-up, including implementing CAPAs.
Provide data, input, and assistance in developing the annual expense budget.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education: BA/BS in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related fields
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in warehouse/logistics, project management, supply chain, engineering, or related field.
Ability to independently manage, organize, problem solve and manage multiple priorities in a fast pace environment.
Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities and can work with all levels of colleagues.
Proficient with using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Must possess strong analytical, business acumen, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral and in written form).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience participating in audits and interacting with regulatory agencies desired
SAP experience
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Minimum expectation of 40 hours per week, unless otherwise dictated by management or business needs.
Able to work traditional and/or split shifts as well as weekends, holidays and overtime as needed due to business/project needs.
Very limited travel.
Use of eye protection, gloves and other PPE when required.
