OBJECTIVE

Assist with the financial close process and coordinate the preparation and filing of the federal and state tax returns for Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB) and affiliates. To assist with budget preparation and coordinate communications with external vendors. Take courses or attend conferences to be comfortable in role while having the support of on staff expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, and annual budgets
  • Coordinate the collection of information from Officers and Directors for the tax filings, utilizing external tax professionals for completion
  • Assist with account reconciliations and related journal entries
  • Lead select cross entity allocations


QUALIFICATIONS

Required: Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting. Three to five years minimum of tax filing preparation experience. Microsoft Excel proficiency required

Preferred: Additional coursework or certifications in taxation. Public accounting experience completing federal form 990. Skillful use of Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft Office products; Dynamics Great Plains, OneNote and Solver Bi360 experience preferred.

Note: The hours for this position are 40-45 hours per week on average with Flexibility of working remote.
