Roush CleanTech is seeking a motivated design engineer to join our dynamic team. The Design Engineer II is a broad role that requires working on a variety of engineering programs in gasoline and liquid propane powertrain systems. The role works on projects for large and small customers to meet the customers' timelines. The Design Engineer II works in a team environment and will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.

As a Design Engineer II, you will:

  • Translate customer needs to design requirements and to feasible design concepts and apply relevant engineering analysis to design components and subsystems as related to base engine and fuel delivery systems.
  • Manage CAD resources to develop 3D models and 2D prints.
  • Develop and execute Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Validation Plan and Report (DVP&R) documents.
  • Conduct hardware development tasks and testing, while supporting prototype, pre-production, and production builds.
  • Manage build-to-print and full-service suppliers.
  • Utilize Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) team or resources to analytically validate designs.
  • Document & report status internally and externally to customers.

Minimum qualifications to be considered:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience in the automotive or related field.
  • Working knowledge of automotive engine and powertrain systems.
  • Familiarity with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX Unigraphics (UG).
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.

A successful candidate may also have:

  • Experience in powertrain or fuel system design and release for production implementation.
