Kelly Engineering in partnership with Our Next Energy (ONE) has an outstanding direct hire Senior Mechanical Design Engineer position in Novi, MI

**Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:**
+ Lead the mechanical design of current and next generation high **-** voltage battery components supported by calculations, analyses, and verification
+ Lead and carry out the detailed mechanical design work, including create detailed 3D models, thermal and stress simulation, GD&T tolerance stack-up analyses, 2D drawings, and design verification testing.
+ Be responsible for mechanical part selection for electrical and fluid connectors, fasteners, adhesives, sealants, compression pads, and electrical/thermal isolation materials.
+ Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes
+ Analyze test data, write detailed reports, and present results and recommendations to engineering management.
+ Work closely with operations, manufacturing, production engineers, and suppliers to ensure products are designed properly for manufacture and assembly
**Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements**
+ BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering
+ 7-10+ years in automotive mechanical design/development specifically with batteries and/or electric vehicles
+ Ability to lead a technical project through the automotive development cycle, from concept through production.
