Cerner PharmNet Analyst

Applications Analyst II - Cerner Pharmacy

The experienced Applications Analyst (PharmNet Analyst) is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and modifying systems as it relates to Cerner PharmNet. The PharmNet Analyst helps to plan, analyze, coordinate and direct activities related to Cerner PharmNet. They also develop and document internal procedures used in conjunction with the application and serve as the support contact and coordinates questions and issues regarding these applications. This position works under general supervision and supports multiple clients.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the maintenance and support of clinical systems, primarily Cerner PharmNet and associated functions within the Cerner EMR

• Maintain and support the Cerner PharmNet application on and off normal scheduled shifts (troubleshooting, updates, fixes and project support, on-call)

• Configures applications and related interfaces

• Provide Level II and Level III support to the Cerner system as needed

• Develop test scripts, policies and procedures

• Documenting detailed description of user needs, program functions and steps required to develop or modify computer programs

• Documents all build activities in conjunction with updating vendor provided applications specifications and perform integration and unit testing

• Establish and maintain relationships at the appropriate level between CareTech and client in order to provide appropriate status of tickets, escalation of issues, solution benefits, etc.

• Formulates solutions using effective communication skills with providers, department managers, units, and other related personnel and outside vendors.

• Experience performing all phases of the System Development Life Cycle including implementation, integration and regression testing, user acceptance, deployment, maintenance and support of Cerner Millennium.

• Responsibilities will vary across client sites

• Adhere to version control processes

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Cerner build, testing and implementation experience

• A minimum of three (3) years of application analysis and coordination experience, OR five (5) years of professional/technical experience in health care involving clinical workflow/operations or clinical systems support preferred

• Cerner PharmNet maintenance and support experience required

• Cerner PharmNet design, build and implementation experience preferred

• 2+ years' experience with Cerner Millennium Meds Process (specifically pharmacy) workflow OR design and build experience

• Demonstrated progressively responsible assignments in system analysis functions

• Familiarity with implementation of automated systems and working with software vendors

• Excellent client, vendor, project team, and employee relationship skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Experience with business process analysis and design, including identification and implementation of "best practices," where applicable and practical within the project time lines

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, public health, health information administration, or a related field or equivalent related experience

• Cerner certifications a plus

• Previous Healthcare Industry Experience Preferred
