r - Timing Drive & Chain Components
Partner with Program Managers to represent purchasing and communicate program requirements/vehicle line overview. You will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. Responsible for actively participating in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders. Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and a high level of independent judgment.
Responsibilities:
Ability to work effectively cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships
Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc.)
Experience handling commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance
Proven competence in negotiating skills
Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex & with international/JV partner involvement
Developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & SAP
Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years relevant experience
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Automotive industry experience
Knowledge of materials management
Capable of interpreting changing market data
Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents
Solid knowledge of contract law as well as GM terms & conditions and its applications regarding purchasing processes
Ability to work with multiple JV partners, globally, independently, and self-directed
Ability to travel at least 5% of time, including international travel
