Job description

Associate Lab Tech (In-Vitro) - Mendota Heights, MN

Associate Laboratory Technician within the In-Vitro Testing (IVT) Laboratory. The IVT laboratory performs over a dozen different types of assays to help determine the safety of new medical devices.

Job Duties:

  • Understands and performs assays utilizing some or all of the following laboratory principals/equipment:
    • aseptic technique
    • reagent preparation
    • equipment maintenance and calibration
    • Cell culturing
    • Determining the health of mammalian cells utilizing light microscopy
    • ELISA
    • Spectrophotometry
    • Blood analyzers
    • 96 well microplate readers
  • Learns new/custom assays to meet lab need
  • Prepares proper documentation utilizing Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Performs daily monitoring of equipment and applicable facilities
  • Assists in document review and the updating of SOP's
  • Assists in identifying procedures which aide in the advancement of science and overall work efficiencies
  • Assists in planning of laboratory work schedule
  • Orders laboratory supplies, media, and reagent shipments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
  • Prefer one year of experience outside of core classes. Either research projects, internships, industry, or a combination thereof.
  • Must be able to think critically and logistically.
  • Must be a driven individual who embraces change and challenge.
  • Extremely high degree of self-integrity.
  • Be able to distinguish between colors.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds (on occasion).

Details:

  • Monday through Friday. 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Pay Rate: $19-$20/hr
  • Contract to Hire
