Job Title: Estimator

Company Overview: EBS, a division of Zander Holdings, is a specialty contractor focused on waterproofing, air barrier, and traffic coatings for commercial buildings. Located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, EBS has been serving the greater Twin Cities area for more than 40 years.

Job Overview: The Estimator reports to the Senior Estimator and is responsible for performing fundamental tasks for estimating, project management and field construction teams in a timely and accurate manner. Potential responsibilities could include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Bid projects and prepare take-offs from architectural plans
  • Assist with development of estimates, proposals, schedules, and work plans
  • Estimate and bid existing structures, including site visits and meetings with customers
  • Write, submit, track, and distribute RFI's PR, ASI, etc. as needed.
  • Create and submit shop drawings and submittals
  • Work with the team to build custom bidding spreadsheets for unique products and projects
  • Screen upcoming bids for size, special requirements such as public, prevailing wage, EEO, bid bond, allowances, etc.
  • Maintain and update project records as required
  • Provide support to estimators and project managers as needed
  • Coordinate, track, and/or attend pre-install project and closeout meetings
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of waterproofing and air barrier products and installation techniques
  • Interact with suppliers and stay current on industry trends by attending meetings, seminars, and lunches

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Construction Management, Estimating, Engineering, or similar field and/or equivalent experience
  • Construction experience in the field, including exposure to materials management and project operations
  • Ability to read, understand, and estimate from plans
  • Strong decision-making, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications
  • Familiarity with building/estimating techniques and software platforms, such as ISqFt, Building Connected, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, QuickBid, Bluebeam/PDF, PlanGrid, Procore, etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to travel to various construction sites; ability to physically review project sites which may involve use of stairways and mobilizing around the existing landscape.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time using a computer and reading plans/specifications.
  • Current driver's license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
