The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a more consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company's risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.
The COO group includes the head of Operations, who is jointly responsible for line of business operations with each of the five LOB CEOs. Operations functions include contact center operations, client servicing support, money movements within our businesses, lending operations, and other functions.
The COO group also includes a number of teams dedicated to strengthening Wells Fargo's risk and control infrastructure. These include the Control Executive team; Regulatory and Policy Affairs; Enterprise Customer Excellence; Sales Practices Oversight and Management; and Strategic Execution and Operations.
The Chief Administrative Office, encompassing the Corporate Properties Group; Corporate Security; Enterprise Business Resiliency; Strategic Programs and Process Improvement; Enterprise Change Management; Supply Chain Management; and Data Management and Insights, delivers important services for our employees and customers.
he COO Control Management organization is creating a new function responsible for performing frontline testing to verify execution of Enterprise remediations (across all Business Groups/Enterprise Functions), as expected. The team will be organized by 4 distinct teams including Program Management, Strategy, Data Analytics and Transactional Verification. The newly formed comprehensive team will be accountable for assessing accuracy and completeness of remediations and evaluating the detailed execution of these efforts against documented plans and standards.
The Customer Remediation Verification Team is looking for Control Sr. Officers to complete strategic review and challenge of high-complexity, high risk, customer remediation plans and approaches as defined by the Front Line. We are looking strong critical thinkers to evaluate and challenge the adequacy and completeness of the customer remediation strategies existing across multiple lines of business and/or products.
Specifically, the successful candidates for this role will:
- Demonstrate advanced strategic thinking capabilities
- Possess subject matter expertise in one or more of the consumer businesses/products (i.e., Consumer & Small Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, Wealth & Investment Management, or Consumer Lending).
- Be capable of initiating action and managing change in a fast paced environment
- Have strong relationship management, influencing, organizational and execution skills; communicate effectively and ensure that all deliverables are met
- Identify and escalate risks within an evolving organization.
- Experience is preferred in managing/auditing/testing highly complex customer remediation activities.
- Manage a high-risk portfolio of Customer Remediations for strategy review and verification
This position must be capable of initiating action and possess strong execution and relationship management skills across all levels and functions. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for excellence and results, and personal accountability for achievement and outcomes.
The selected candidate must be in one of the listed locations. Position is currently remote; however, they will be required to work on site when Wells Fargo returns to standard operating model.

Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in risk management or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years must include direct experience in risk management
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to meet stringent deadlines
- Process design or improvement experience
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment
Other Desired Qualifications
- 8+ years of strategic planning experience
- Subject matter expertise in one or more bank lines of business such as Consumer Lending, Corporate & Investment Banking, Wealth Investment Management, Consumer & Small Business Banking, or Commercial Banking
- Experience leading teams with multiple stakeholder groups
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously, effectively resolving competing objectives, priorities and conflicts as they arise
- Demonstrated experience leading the definition and delivery of moderate to large scale complex and strategic initiatives from inception to implementation
- Demonstrated understanding and use of process improvement
- Knowledge and understanding of complex IT and data environments: cross-functional areas, large number of interfaces and data sources
- Knowledge and understanding of ever-evolving regulatory environments and governance processes
