Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced Metrology & Calibration Test & Evaluation Lab Technician to join our team in Hazelwood, MO. As a Metrology technician, you will have an important and exciting role in the company that includes calibration, designing and building test fixtures, programming automation software, and developing procedures to test new equipment. You will tackle new and challenging problems every day.

Metrology is the science of measurement and includes all theoretical and practical aspects of measurement. Metrology engineering covers the basic understanding of how measurement accuracy and precision impacts our ability to make repeatable and reproducible measurements throughout Boeing, basic understanding of the importance of measurement traceability and the role calibration plays in establishing traceability, and the quality systems that support these processes.

Metrology and Test Equipment Services (MATES) provides a full spectrum of test asset and metrology services and support for internal customers and products through all phases of the product lifecycle. Services include: test asset selection and use, acquisition, allocation, resource and lifecycle management, calibration/certification for over 600,000 dimensional/optics, electrical/electronic and mechanical/physical measurement and test assets, sourcing management, measurement solutions, repair & maintenance and specialized test services. MATES is comprised of engineers, technicians and administrative personnel who support Boeing programs, business units and external/government customers by providing best value test asset management and metrology services through all phases of the product lifecycle. We are responsible and accountable to meet or exceed the safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance expectations established in customer negotiated service agreements.

Candidate will work directly with customers with minimum supervision and be must familiar with lab safety protocols.

Position Responsibilities:

• Apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment
• Plans, conducts and documents complex tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
• Designs, fabricates, builds and analyzes test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies
• Coordinates test requirements, determines test methods and capabilities
• Conducts system test preparations by guiding system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout and teardown
• Performs test article configuration control
• Conducts complex tests, analyzes data and documents results; participates in test readiness reviews
• Identifies and resolves test anomalies
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex laboratory and test-related problems
• Coordinates test laboratory activities, maintenance and repairs, and personnel training
• Assists government agencies, safety and hazardous materials teams in the event of emergencies
• Coaches and trains others
• Works under minimal direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 1+ years of experience with metrology

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 3+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
• 3+ years of experience in a PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) back shop for the military
• Experience in a calibration laboratory

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
