This job exists to manage a broad spectrum of electrical work, be highly skilled in interpreting electrical diagrams and drawing, utilizing electrical diagnostics equipment, troubleshooting of all electrical control circuitry and distribution equipment, revisions and design of said circuitry, proper switching and isolation of equipment, and knowledge in virtually all electrical applications and intricacies specific to the NKC site. Need to understand and be able to troubleshoot automation equipment.

What you will do:

Responsible for performing highly diversified electrical and instrumentation duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and preventative maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Participates as a member of the NKC maintenance department
  • Participates in daily morning meetings and MOCs as needed.
  • Completes assigned work order tasks outlined by Lead Mechanic.
  • Supports and performs assigned instrument and electrical tasks as required.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with HSE procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical materials and publications.
External contract services.
  • Assists HSE Leader and Lead Mechanic with coordinating external I&E contract resources.
  • Supports external controls contract personnel as required while performing tasks on site.
  • Responsible for day-to-day calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the following instrument and electrical systems as needed :
  • Pressure, flow, level, temperature, and PH instrumentation.
  • Environmental monitoring systems such as the thermal oxidizer.
  • Packaging equipment
  • Complete Safety Critical PMs assigned to monitor compliance, troubleshoot malfunctions for cause and correction.

Candidate must be willing to help support maintenance mechanics and mechanical equipment repairs and willing to share "on call" 24/7 duties with fellow team. Perform diversified electrical and electronic instrumentation duties. Electrical duties would include preventative maintenance of motors and other electrical apparatus, switchgear, MCCs, Variable Frequency Motor drives, electrical distribution and power panels in voltages ranging from 120V AC to 480 Volts 3 phase. Lighting and lighting fixture maintenance is included; knowledge of 277 V lighting a plus. Must have computer skills that include maintenance work requests and purchase requisitioning.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, test and diagnostic meters as well as electronic instrument calibration devices. Additionally the applicant would have experience in operating forklifts and/or aerial maintenance equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and off hours. Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during planned outages.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical skills including, but not limited to electrical troubleshooting and repair of production machines and related apparatus.
  • Responsible for work place safety, performing or assisting with on the job training, including process specific training for all personnel on their shift.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair on equipment during production. Also report the need for repair or maintenance on equipment to management.
  • Responsible to notify site manager immediately of a serious incident.
  • Other duties as assigned.
